Q: What is the difference between a Backorder and a Special Order?

A: Backorder items are those that are available and on order, but have not arrived yet. Special Orders are those items which are not in distribution, or no inventory can be located throughout our vast network of our warehouses. In the case of a Special Order, we can make a "Special" order with the manufacturer, on your behalf and with your approval. Backorders typically delay an order 1-2 weeks, while a Special Order typically takes 2-3 weeks turnaround time. These delays can vary, depending on the time of year, or on the accessibility of an item. For example, some Jacuzzi parts that are now available through only one manufacturer, located in Canada, can take longer due to the location of the item.
